Do I have to be a H.O.G.® member to rent with Harley-Davidson® Authorized Rentals? Is this the same as the H.O.G. Fly & Ride motorcycle rental program?
No. Harley-Davidson® Authorized Rentals is a rental program open to all qualified motorcyclists. H.O.G. Fly & Ride is a different program only available to H.O.G. members.
Are all rental prices the same? How much does a rental cost?
Rates will vary. Go to the Rental Models page for details.
Are there H.O.G.® discounts?
We do not offer a discount to H.O.G. members. Any specials in effect will be offered to all customers.
What bikes are available to rent?
Sample Harley-Davidson®, Inc. has a variety of recent model year Harley-Davidson® motorcycles to rent. Check out the Available Models section to learn what we have in our rental fleets.
What does a rental include?
The use of a recent model H-D® motorcycle, motorcycle lock, Genuine H-D® helmet, H-D® rainsuit, short-term luggage storage, emergency roadside assistance and minimum requirements for insurance coverage.
Does the rental include insurance?
Yes, each rental includes minimum requirements for insurance. If you want more coverage for peace of mind, rental customers can choose to upgrade coverage by paying an additional fee.
Does my motorcycle or automotive insurance coverage carry over to a motorcycle rental or tour?
Not likely. Most motorcycle and automotive insurance policies do not extend coverage to motorcycle rentals. It is recommended you inquire with your insurance agent in advance.
If I ride a Harley-Davidson® Authorized Rentals motorcycle in a state that does not have a helmet law, why must my passenger and I wear one?
Our primary concern is your safety. Protection on the road is a good thing and it is a good idea for motorcyclists to ride responsibly. You and any passengers must sign an agreement that states you will wear a DOT-approved helmet at all times while on the bike for the duration of the rental, even if you're traveling in a state without mandatory helmet laws. If you don't have your own DOT-approved helmet, don't worry: these are provided at the time of rental. Be aware that beanie and novelty shells are not DOT-approved and do not qualify as proper head protection.
May I use my own helmet?
Yes, but only if it is DOT-approved. If you don't have your own DOT-approved helmet, one will be offered to you at the time of rental.
